Prepare for battle…

We are at war.  But we are not afraid.  Our weaponry is not that of fallible, man-made material; the steel spear and iron sword will fail us all eventually.  The shield and helmet forged in the fire will fade and crumble as time quickly passes.  Misshapen helmet and bronze breastplate; leather sandals and woven robe; are these things not made by man?  We are at war.  And our weaponry is forged in the very heart of the Eternal Kingdom.  These are: the helmet of salvation, formed by the blood of the Perfect Lamb; the sword of the Spirit, which is the very word of God, our fearless leader; the breastplate of righteousness, guarding us against all of our enemy’s fiery arrows; the shield of faith; faith that is sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see; the belt of truth, for by the truth are we set free from our bondage; and the sandals of peace, that we may be a blessing to our fellow man on this earth.  We are at war.  Yet the battle is already won….   (Based on Ephesians 6:10-18.)

Are you prepared for battle?  Come and be strengthened in this powerful group of high school and college aged guys!  Don't worry, there is only a painless initiation procedure, but after that, you're part of the group!  (Just kidding about the initiation!!)  When you come, feel free to invite a friend; we'll make a man out of both of you!

What's that?  You don't know how to get here!?!  Well, here's the information on where and when we meet:

Q: Who is eligible to join this group?

A: Sorry girls, even though we like you, we can't allow you to join this group.  This group is eligible for guys only.  Juniors and seniors in high school and college student-males are the only ones who can join this group.

Q: What do I need to bring to a group meeting, should I choose to attend?

A: Well, first of all, we hope that you do come!  And please, bring a friend while you're at it!  As for what you should bring to this group, the list is small.  First of all, bring yourself.  Secondly, bring your Bible.  If you don't have a Bible, don't worry, we got you covered!  Thirdly, you can bring whatever else you want (food is strongly encouraged).  As long as you are not endangering yourself or anyone else in the group, you can bring whatever else you want.

Q: Is it true that you must be a Chicago Cub's baseball fan in order to join?

A: This is a rumor that has been circulating for a while now.  Although it is strongly encouraged that you change your favorite team to the Cubs, we will reluctantly allow non-Cubs fan into the group.  But be prepared for some hazing... (just kidding).
